RURAL DEVELOPMENTS

At Howarth, we recognise the importance of the need to deliver new affordable housing for rural communities. We have considerable experience of identifying, purchasing and working closely with our partners to deliver affordable housing on rural exception sites and have implemented several innovative initiatives.

 

Using our knowledge of housing need and the planning system, as well as funding streams, we have utilised grant directly from the HCA as well as council planning obligation commuted sums to deliver new affordable homes. Obtaining local support is essential and we work closely with parish councils, especially when working in the Green Belt, to ensure that the development proposals sit comfortably in their setting. Community initiatives are also at the heart of these developments and education, arts and design based projects for local children are well received and help make the experience a positive one as well as improve community cohesion.
